Factrix was a pioneering industrial group from the U.S. city of San Francisco. Formed in 1978 as Minimal Man by Bond Bergland and Cole Palme, they were quickly joined by Patrick Miller for a series of shows before splitting off as Factrix and giving the Minimal Man moniker to Patrick. Joseph T. Jacobs joined in 1979 and the real Factrix was completed. Praised by Carlo McCormick as "one of the great bands of their era, prescient and influential.
Frequent collaborators included Monte Cazazza, Ruby Ray (visuals/projectionist), Tana Emmolo-Smith, Survival Research Labs/SRL (Mark Pauline, Matt Heckert), and Minimal Man (Patrick Miller).
